Built in a hostel room. Shaped by real-world problems.
Bymond began as an experiment between two engineering students and grew through education, technology, unexpected challenges and years of building real systems for real users.
“We did not start by deciding what company to become. The business evolved around real problems.”
It started with a problem, not a business plan.
Bymond Private Limited was founded by Pritam Nanda and Ayan Samanta while studying engineering at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College in West Bengal, India.
What began as student projects, technical competitions, and campus experiments quickly grew into organizing technical workshops and training programs for engineering colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs. The company was formally registered partly because a legal entity was required to conduct those workshops and issue student certificates.
When COVID-19 hit in 2020, physical college workshops ground to a halt. Returning home, the founders pivoted to explore online education and needed a dependable live classroom platform. That search led to discovering open-source BigBlueButton software, which they white-labeled to launch Bymond Classroom—providing online classes, including free sessions for underprivileged students.
As other educators and institutions noticed Bymond Classroom, they began asking for help with BigBlueButton installation, optimization, and server hosting. Solving those hosting problems revealed a major market need, leading to the commercial launch of BigBlueButton Host.

Bymond is Incorporated
The company was registered to support technical workshops, training programs, and educational initiatives for engineering colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs.
Everything Changed
COVID-19 stopped physical workshops. Returning home, the team re-evaluated how education could be delivered remotely.
From Classroom to Platform
White-labeling BigBlueButton for Bymond Classroom led to educators requesting hosting help, eventually evolving into BigBlueButton Host.
Sometimes the product finds you.
Bymond originally needed an online classroom for its own educational work. BigBlueButton solved that problem. As other educators started asking for hosting help, Bymond discovered that reliable managed virtual classroom infrastructure was itself a valuable problem worth solving.
A note from the founder

Pritam Nanda
Co-founder, Bymond Private Limited
“We never set out to build a particular kind of technology company. We kept finding problems worth solving, learning what was necessary to solve them, and building from there.”
Bymond was founded by Pritam Nanda and Ayan Samanta during their engineering years at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College. Today, they continue to work together on selected products and technology initiatives while pursuing their respective professional paths.

What We Believe
Guiding principles that dictate how we architect software, manage infrastructure, and treat our clients.
Reliability Over Shortcuts
We prefer systems that remain dependable and maintainable years after launch. Shortcuts taken during development turn into expensive middle-of-the-night operational emergencies.
Solve the Real Problem
Technology should eliminate business friction, not introduce new complexity. We evaluate every architectural decision based on real operational necessity.
Practical Engineering
We choose technology stacks based on the problem, constraints, and long-term maintainability—never because a framework or tool is currently trending.
Ownership Beyond Launch
Production deployment is not the end of engineering. It is where operational responsibility begins. We monitor, patch, and maintain systems for long-term health.
Keep Complexity Useful
Complex systems are sometimes necessary, but unnecessary complexity should never become the product. Clarity and maintainability always come first.
How We Work With Organizations
Understand
Identify real business goals, operational bottlenecks, and system constraints.
Design
Map out clear software architecture, data schemas, and cloud infrastructure.
Build
Engineer clean, type-safe TypeScript/Node code and configure hardened servers.
Operate
Deploy to production, track metrics via Prometheus, and handle backups.
Improve
Refine software performance continuously based on real user activity.
